Economist with Experience Wanted at the Riksbank
Are you an economist with several years of experience and a good understanding of the financial system, who wants to contribute to an efficient and stable financial system with your analytical skills? Then this is the job for you.
WE OFFER YOU
We offer you challenging tasks in a dynamic environment where you can delve into current macroeconomic issues, while also contributing to conveying the Riksbank's analysis and policy from both a Swedish and an international perspective. You will work in an environment with a lot of knowledge, engaged colleagues, and great opportunities for professional development.
THIS IS WHAT YOU WILL DO WITH US
You will work on analyzing risks that may threaten the stability of the financial system. This work ranges from initiating new analysis to proposing policy positions for the executive board. An important part of your portfolio is to drive the department's analytical work forward in collaboration with the department's model and data team, for example by developing new analytical methods. With your experience, you will also act as a sounding board and support colleagues in various projects and tasks. Your work constitutes an important part of the Financial Stability report, in materials for the executive board's speeches and international meetings, as well as in the department's contributions to monetary policy documentation. You will also have the opportunity to communicate your work in other Riksbank publications.
YOUR TEAM
The Macro-Financial Risks Unit is one of four units in the Financial Stability Department. The unit analyzes risks related to banks' lending to households and businesses and relevant asset markets, as well as systemic risks from a broader perspective. Additionally, the unit drives the work on the Financial Stability report and coordinates the Riksbank's participation in the Financial Stability Council and certain international work. The unit often collaborates with other departments at the Riksbank, not least the monetary policy department, and also has many external contacts both in Sweden and internationally, such as other authorities and central banks. You have excellent analytical skills and experience in handling and analyzing large amounts of data using programming languages such as Stata, MatLab, R, Python. You are also curious about exploring what new technology and methods can offer in terms of analytical opportunities.
As a person, you are a stable and mature team player with good judgment. You have a high level of initiative and work in a structured manner. At the same time, you are unpretentious, self-driven, and quality-conscious, and you are happy to take on significant personal responsibility. You enjoy working in a changing environment and understand how you contribute to the overall mission of the Riksbank. We see a strong interest in macroeconomic issues as a given.
