Administrator for the Breeding Department at the Swedish Armed Forces Dog Service Unit
The Air Combat School (LSS) is the Air Force's joint competence center for training and development. At LSS, there are the Air Force's schools, the Air Force's development unit, and the Swedish Armed Forces Dog Service Unit. LSS plays a crucial role in the development and growth of the future Air Force.
The Swedish Armed Forces Dog Service Unit is now seeking a Foster Care Administrator for the Breeding Department in Sollefteå.
About the Unit:
The Swedish Armed Forces Dog Service Unit (FHTE) is tasked with providing the continuously serving military units and the Police with service dogs. The Armed Forces have been breeding service dogs since the summer of 2005 and have raised approximately 4000 puppies of the German Shepherd breed. The Breeding Department in Sollefteå is responsible for conducting matings, caring for and managing breeding bitches and puppies, recruiting foster caregivers, placing puppies with foster caregivers, and providing support to foster caregivers. Puppies are placed with foster caregivers when they are eight weeks old and stay there until they are about 15 months old when they proceed to training for service after passing a suitability test. The foster care operation is divided into six regions where the work is led and distributed by a regional Dog Section Chief. FHTE has over 300 active foster caregivers and about 30 foster care consultants across the country who are responsible for creating conditions for the puppies to develop in the right direction for a future life as service dogs.
Main Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for the administration of the department's foster care operations
- Administer the department's handling of reimbursements, travel expenses, and payroll for foster care consultants and foster caregivers
- Administer the department's expedition handling of documents, mail and key management, and archive services
- Be responsible for the department's record keeping and registry maintenance
- Support with other administrative tasks within the department such as booking meetings, visitor reception, phone answering, preparations for meetings, etc.
- Support with the administration of the department's financial and invoicing management
- Support with orders and purchases for the department
- Administer the department's digital tracking systems and training platforms (e.g., FM Dog Breeding Database and Teams, Moodle, or equivalent), including creating and managing accounts for students and teachers
- Contribute to the development and improvement of administrative routines within the department
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent education/experience deemed equivalent by the employer
- Current experience in administrative work
- Very good computer skills and good knowledge of the Office suite and administrative systems
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
- Driver's license B

Meritorious
- Experience from the Armed Forces or other government operations
- Experience with administrative systems such as PRIO/SAP, SharePoint
- Knowledge and experience of digital course and collaboration platforms (e.g., Teams, Moodle, or equivalent)
- Signal protection training
- Military driver's license for passenger cars and minibuses
