Your role with us

OKG is a nuclear power plant located on the Simpevarp peninsula, 25 kilometers north of Oskarshamn. As a maintenance engineer in building and facility maintenance, you will be part of PMP (Production Mechanical Maintenance Primary Systems) and work on planning and preparing preventive and corrective maintenance actions during base operations as well as before and during annual revisions.

Together with maintenance technicians, you will conduct building inspection rounds where the status of the facilities is periodically assessed and documented. In addition, you will participate as an expert in the building area in cross-functional projects and ongoing development work.

What will you work with?

• Prepare and plan maintenance actions and handle maintenance measures (smaller maintenance projects) within your own building responsibility area.

• Manage fault reports.

• Be responsible for and participate in building inspections in the form of rounds and documentation.

• Identify, initiate, and work on continuous improvements.

• Contribute to facility development by participating as a maintenance representative in project and change activities.

• Participate in the further development of maintenance strategies.

PMP consists of a larger team of 16 people responsible for building maintenance and mechanical maintenance of the primary systems (the reactor's support and safety systems) at the Oskarshamn 3 nuclear power plant. The group is divided into maintenance technicians, maintenance engineers, team leaders, and workshop coordinators.

In your immediate team, there are two building engineers, two technicians, and hired contractors as needed. You will work independently but also together with the team and colleagues from many other departments and support functions.

A few business trips may occur, for example, for experience meetings at our other facilities within Uniper. You will report to the acting group manager for PMP (mechanical maintenance primary systems) and have Robert Nilsson as a supportive manager who strives for our success together!

Uniper is part of Sweden's critical infrastructure, and our operations are subject to regulations regarding security protection, export control, and nuclear non-proliferation. Therefore, we will conduct security assessments for all our positions and complement them with background checks for security-classified positions, in accordance with the Security Protection Act. Uniper is part of critical societal operations in Sweden, which is why this position may be subject to military placement. A health examination, including a drug test, may also be relevant before employment.

Who we are looking for

The work as a maintenance engineer involves many contact points with both internal and external stakeholders, which is why you need good communication and collaboration skills. To be successful in the role, you must take ownership and have the willingness to take responsibility and drive your projects forward, and you must be meticulous and maintain high quality. Work within the nuclear sector requires good safety awareness, the ability to identify risks, and contribute to continuous improvements in operations.
