As a new substitute in Falu Municipality, you will be offered a four-day introductory training. The purpose is to give you good conditions for your summer job and to ensure that you feel secure in your role.

About the Job

The workplaces within LSS and support and care can be in group or service housing, short-term activities, daily activities, social psychiatry, or housing support that is based in individuals' homes.

In elderly care, you can work in home care, at care and nursing homes, or short-term accommodations, where the focus may be on rehabilitation after a hospital stay.

Job Responsibilities

  • Personal care and daily support: Assist with personal hygiene, dressing, meals, and other daily routines.
  • Practical tasks: Support with cleaning, laundry, cooking, and shopping for the home.
  • Social support: Motivate social activities and create meaningful leisure time. You work to break loneliness and strengthen the well-being of care recipients, both physically and mentally.
  • Health-promoting work: Strengthen mental and physical health by providing support that contributes to a more independent life.
  • Documentation and medication management: Document interventions and manage medications according to delegation.

Qualifications

In the selection process, we will place great emphasis on personal qualities and your commitment to the position. We are looking for someone with a genuine commitment and a strong interest in people. You are empathetic and meet each individual professionally based on their unique needs and circumstances. You have patience, are reliable, and take responsibility. With a calm and respectful manner, you listen to others' needs and adapt your working methods accordingly. Humility and understanding of different challenges are important in the role.

As a person, you are responsible and flexible, with a service-oriented approach and a positive attitude. It is important that you can work independently while also having good collaboration skills.

The job involves documentation, which requires computer skills and proficiency in the Swedish language, both spoken and written.

Requirements for the Role:

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • Good computer and mobile skills.
  • Good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form.
  • You must be an EU citizen or have a valid residence and work permit.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Education or experience in care, support, or social work.
  • Experience with delegated health and medical tasks.
  • B driver's license and cycling experience (required in home care groups).
  • Knowledge of MI (motivational interviewing) or low-arousal responses.

Employment Conditions

During the summer, we offer fixed-term employment for 1–3 months, where you will work according to a completed schedule. Working hours vary and may include day, evening, night, and weekend shifts.

To work within the care administration, you need to meet the requirements to receive delegation for medication management. This means you will need to read training materials, undergo tests, and participate in a review before a knowledge test. Therefore, it is important that you have a good ability to read, write, and understand the Swedish language.

Please note that as of July 1, 2023, the title of assistant nurse is protected, and to be employed as an assistant nurse, you need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare, which you apply for via their e-service.
