About the Organization

The pathology laboratories at Norra Älvsborg County Hospital, NÄL, are part of Clinical Pathology and belong to Sahlgrenska University Hospital. Job Responsibilities

The pathology laboratory has about 40 employees, mainly biomedical analysts (BMA) and laboratory assistants. At the laboratory, cell and tissue samples are examined for the presence of pathological changes. The pathology laboratory is an organization in change and development with a strong focus on digitalization in diagnostics. As we are an accredited organization, this places high demands on accuracy and clear traceability in everything we do, with patient safety in focus.

We are now looking for a staff member to handle tasks related to sample management and registration. In this role, you will check patient information on incoming samples against the accompanying referrals, register these in our lab data system Sympathy, and sort samples for further handling in the laboratory. You will also work with sorting sample materials in our archive and assigning referrals for diagnostics in the system.

About You

To succeed in this role, you need to have at least a high school diploma and preferably experience in carefully following written instructions, such as method descriptions. You need to be meticulous in your work and have good IT skills as well as an interest in familiarizing yourself with new digital tools.

It is important for you to do the right thing in the right way, and you take responsibility for ensuring that samples are handled correctly and that registration is done according to applicable routines. You have good communication skills and a strong ability to collaborate, which allows you to communicate clearly with different professions in the clinic and thereby contribute to a well-functioning interaction. You have logical thinking and understand how information is interconnected, which helps you follow workflows effectively and in a structured manner.

The position is full-time. Working hours are scheduled Monday to Friday from 07:15 to 16:00.
