Specialist Physician in Emergency or General Medicine

We are now looking for a specialist physician in emergency or general medicine for a medical unit at one of our standing military units at Göta Logistic Regiment T 2.

Main Responsibilities

You are expected to participate in exercises and training both nationally and internationally. When the unit is deployed in the field, you will staff the medical unit where you, as a physician, have the overall medical responsibility for the care of the injured. The medical team includes specialist nurses and medics. As a physician, you should be able to help develop procedures at the medical unit and ensure that the unit provides good and evidence-based healthcare according to the Health and Medical Services Act.

Qualifications

• Licensed physician with a specialty degree in emergency or general medicine, or a licensed physician with at least 3 years of completed residency in emergency or general medicine.
• Good ability to express yourself in spoken and written Swedish and English.
• Approved medical examination by the Defence Health Service and the Swedish Armed Forces' physical basic requirements.
• Driving license B.

Desirable Qualifications

• Completed military service, Basic Military Training (GMU/GU) or basic soldier training (GSU/GSU INT).
• Previous military service.
• Training in “Prehospital Trauma Life Support”, “Definitive Surgical Trauma Care” (DSTC), “Advanced Life Support in Trauma” or equivalent courses.
• Training or experience in teaching others.
• Experience in trauma care.

As a part-time employee in the Swedish Armed Forces, you retain your civilian employer as your primary employer but serve in the Armed Forces part-time. The position comes with an obligation to be placed in one of our military units. You will participate in training and exercises in the wartime organization. The work involves great variation in both tasks and environments. We offer you a job that is both developing and challenging, both physically and mentally, with significant variations in both work environment and tasks. Before employment, you will be assessed by the conscription authority.

• Type of employment: Permanent employment with part-time service according to the Officers Ordinance 20§, a six-month probationary period applies.
• Work location: Skövde.
• Start date: by agreement.
• Salary: Individual salary setting.
