About us

Welcome to the Operations Unit in Norrköping – our district heating facility at Händelöverket. You will be part of the Operations Support team, consisting of 12 colleagues in various roles such as environmental engineer, chemical engineer, process engineer, operations technician, and operations coordinator. Here, we work with a strong focus on safety, working environment, and regulatory compliance. We are a collaborative group that enjoys technology and development, taking responsibility for ensuring that operations run safely and efficiently – every day.

We are now looking for a new colleague to join the team as an Environmental Engineer, and we hope it could be you!

Your role

As an Environmental Engineer, you will be responsible for keeping our environmental performance at top level. You will have primary responsibility for emissions – from monitoring emissions against legal requirements and internal goals to driving improvements that make a real difference. The role combines analysis and structure with practical collaboration close to operations, where your expertise is crucial for safe and sustainable energy production.

In your role, you will:

  • Monitor and report emissions – ensuring we comply with laws and conditions.
  • Analyze and compile environmental data – from monthly reports to annual reports.
  • Ensure measurement and equipment – order service and external measurement services.
  • Drive chemical work – manage iChemistry, risk assessments, and inventory of chemicals.
  • Participate in inspections and supervision – and keep our systems updated.
  • Contribute as an expert in projects – with environmental and chemical expertise for the right solutions.

In this role, you are a key person in the collaboration between operations and the environment. You will have close dialogue with instrumentation technicians, operations coordinators, HSE, and chemical engineers – and also build relationships with external stakeholders. The work is largely administrative, but you will also get to go out into the facility for rounds and contribute your expertise to safety work, which is always our top priority.

Your experiences

To succeed and thrive in this role, we are looking for someone with an engineering background in environmental science, chemistry, or equivalent. You have experience from the energy sector, and if you have also worked with combined heat and power plants or boilers, that is a big plus.

As a person, we are looking for someone with a strong safety mindset who always prioritizes the working environment. You thrive with multiple points of contact and collaboration while also being confident in making independent decisions when necessary. This is a role for someone who enjoys analysis, technology, and making a difference for the environment – in an organization where safety and sustainability always come first. We see that you have a genuine interest in technology and development – you enjoy finding smart solutions and driving improvements. With us, you will be part of a culture where we love technology and take pride in what we do. If you share our values and want to contribute to a sustainable future, you will thrive with us.

What is it like with us?

We look forward to welcoming you to a team with diverse specialist competencies. We are keen to share our knowledge and experiences with each other while having fun together and valuing collaboration. Your closest manager, Tomas Larsson, has a coaching leadership style and will give you great trust in your role. He will provide you with space to take responsibility and initiative but will be there to support you when you need it.

Warm welcome to apply and join us on the path to a sustainable society! The application deadline is January 2.
