Lawyer at the Chemical Agency
The Chemical Agency is a government authority tasked with reducing the risks of harm to people and the environment from chemicals. As an employee with us, you are part of significant work for sustainable development in Sweden, within the EU, and globally. We are 250 employees, and our office is located in central Sundbyberg.
Are you a lawyer interested in socially important issues? Do you want to influence chemical work while contributing to a toxic-free environment?
We need to expand our legal operations and are now looking for more lawyers who want to contribute their expertise and commitment.
The Chemical Agency offers you exciting tasks within a legal area that is constantly changing and developing. Chemical legislation is largely harmonized within the EU, which means that we work extensively with the application and development of EU legislation to ensure a high level of protection for health and the environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Legal Secretariat has a broad and significant mission to contribute to ensuring that the agency's work maintains a high legal quality. We are about ten lawyers working with both chemical law and administrative law issues.
We are responsible for providing legal support in the agency's work regarding, among other things, licensing, supervision, and market control, as well as regulatory development at both national and international levels. With us, you will also have the opportunity to work with regulations, referrals, and government assignments, provide support in EU work, and represent the agency in court. Your tasks will also involve providing support on administrative law, transparency and confidentiality, other agency law, and the agency's digitization.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who has:
- a law degree or equivalent
- several years of experience in legal work
- experience in administrative law
- good ability to communicate orally and in writing in Swedish and English
It is advantageous if you have:
- experience in legal work at a government agency
- experience in market control or other supervision
- experience in EU law
In addition to your formal qualifications, we see that you are responsible and take your own initiatives to drive work forward. You can prioritize and adapt to the needs of the organization while being structured, meticulous, and accustomed to handling legal issues. The role requires you to work independently while collaborating effectively with other lawyers and colleagues in other professions and explaining legal matters clearly and understandably.
We place great importance on your personal qualities.
OTHER
At the Chemical Agency, every employee is important for the agency to function, and we therefore care about your health and work environment. Your knowledge is valued, and you have great opportunities for development.
We expect all employees to contribute to a good work climate and understand their role as civil servants in our common mission.
You work and act according to our employee policy and our values. We also conduct targeted work for equal rights and opportunities.
The Chemical Agency applies a six-month probationary period for all positions.
Based on the needs of the organization, there is the possibility, after agreement with the manager, to work up to half of the working hours remotely.
