Do you want to work as a Technician for component maintenance on the JAS 39 Gripen?
We are now looking for you with a technical interest, practical skills, and a completed high school diploma who wants to work as a civilian Technician in the Air Force.
What we offer:
The Aircraft Maintenance Unit at Norrbotten Air Force Wing (F 21) offers you a civilian position where you will belong to the Special Workshop of the Aircraft Workshop. Your journey begins with a six-month probationary employment where you will be introduced to the aircraft maintenance operations with maintenance of components for the JAS 39 Gripen and evaluated for continued employment.
Initially, you will work under supervision, allowing you to practically work with the maintenance of components for one of the Armed Forces' most advanced technical systems – the JAS 39 Gripen fighter aircraft.
The work is varied, regulated, and requires precision, responsibility, and teamwork skills.
We are now looking for one to two Technicians who, in the initial phase, will primarily work with the maintenance and supervision of weapon beams, gas cylinders, hydraulic units, and engine conservation related to the JAS 39 Gripen.
After completing training and approved practice, you can obtain authorizations for component maintenance on the JAS 39 Gripen – which means you will be able to perform and report aircraft maintenance independently within your assigned authorization.
Your future with us:
As a civilian Technician, you will become an important part of a combat unit. You will receive combat training and may participate in exercises and missions – both within Sweden and abroad. We also offer good development opportunities. For example, you can further your education in:
- Sheet/structure
- Composite
- Welding
- Tool maintenance
- Weapon beams
- Nondestructive testing
- Contact pressing
- Soft soldering
We are looking for someone who has the following:
Qualifications:
- Completed high school diploma
- Swedish citizen
- Driving license B
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
Meritorious:
- Aviation technical education at the high school level
- Completed military service or basic military training (GMU)
- Experience from previous work within the Armed Forces
- Experience in a technical/vehicle technical profession
- Experience with the Armed Forces' support systems
We place great emphasis on personal qualities and suitability – to succeed in the aircraft maintenance environment, precision, responsibility, and team spirit are required.
