About the Workplace

The mission of the Community Building Administration is to ensure that the municipality's residents have a good living and environmental quality in a long-term sustainable society.

We provide advice and information to the public and businesses, but we are also the supervisory authority within our areas of operation.

VA Operations is part of the Technical Division within the Community Building Administration. In addition to VA Operations, the Technical Division also includes Waste Management and the Infrastructure Unit.

The VA Operations unit is responsible for the operation of the wastewater treatment plant in Älvängen, maintenance of the pipeline network for drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater, as well as planning and implementation of necessary reinvestments.

VA Operations is now looking for a pipe network inspector, with the position based in Älvängen. Currently, 19 people work in the unit, and we have close collaboration on many issues and a very good cohesion. We focus heavily on competence supply within the unit, and there are good opportunities for development within your role.

Job Responsibilities

As a pipe network inspector, you will contribute to strengthening the VA operations' preventive and investigative work. You will have a brand new fully equipped camera bus at your disposal to carry out your tasks.

You will also participate in:

• Planning of rehabilitation/renewal work on the wastewater and stormwater systems.
• Investigating before repairs of various kinds, for example, in case of acute leaks and sewer blockages.

Qualifications

We place great importance on your personal qualities. It is important to be able to work both independently and in a team. Since you will often meet our municipal residents in your work, we expect you to be service-oriented and have a pleasant demeanor. Naturally, you have a driver's license, both B & C categories, as well as YKB and are an authorized pipe network inspector.

You have documented competence as a pipe network inspector with several years of experience in external pipeline work. Training such as Work on the Road, Hygiene when working with water pipes, Safe Excavation, Motor Cutting, and Hot Work are advantageous.

Other

We follow industry standards T25, P122, and on-call duty may occur in the position.
