Seize the opportunity to become the spider in the web at Volvo Cars as a Traffic Control Technician in Hällered. The Volvo Hällered Proving Ground is an essential part of vehicle development. Sustainability, comfort, performance, reliability, and safety are qualities that are constantly tested on the test tracks, which operate around the clock. Here, you will develop in a technical and operational role, have daily contact with drivers and customers, and play a crucial role in the safety and flow of the innovative testing operations. 

As a Traffic Control Technician, you will monitor traffic at Hällered, manage customer contacts, coordinate during incidents, and optimize safety during events, as well as administer bookings and provide accurate information to our customers about the testing operations.

• Make quick and well-informed decisions regarding safety in the track system

• Take on a coordinating leadership role during incidents and accidents

• Act as the primary contact point and emergency center during accidents

• Be responsible for safety work during film shoots and events at Hällered and ensure optimal use of the track area from a traffic safety perspective

• Ensure that customers receive accurate and up-to-date information about tests across the entire track area

• Handle booking requests through careful review to ensure that tests can be approved

• Verify that all planned tests are coordinated with existing bookings to minimize accident risks

The assignment is a temporary position lasting up to 1.5 years with the possibility of extension.

As a person, you are solution-oriented, resilient under stress, enjoy juggling multiple tasks, and thrive on interacting with people. You are comfortable in personal meetings as well as helping individuals through other communication channels. You have a technical interest and want to contribute to maintaining the highest quality in our operations – every day. You need to have good communication skills to effectively coordinate with drivers and customers, as well as the ability to make quick and well-informed decisions in pressured situations. You should be comfortable working irregular hours as the work is conducted on a rolling three-week schedule.

• Approved high school diploma, preferably with a technical focus. Please upload a file with original grades or certified copies with your application.

• Good technical understanding and familiarity with systems

• Good communication skills - Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

• Driver's license and access to a personal vehicle.

• Flexible with working hours as the work is conducted in shifts.
