The Stockholm West area in the picturesque municipality of Ekerö includes the open prison Svartsjö, the women's prison Färingsö, and the detention center Färingsö. About 170 employees and ten managers manage, lead, and develop the operations that accommodate around 270 inmates. The largest professional group is correctional officers, but there are also healthcare professionals, administrative staff, educators, and production leaders working here.

The inmates are engaged in education, various treatment programs, and work within the wood and craft industry, packaging/assembly, and ecological agriculture with grain cultivation and animal husbandry. They also run a farm shop where self-produced goods such as plants and crafts are sold. The two prisons are located close to each other and are easily accessible by bus or car. Free parking is available for staff.

Having a job is an important part of preparing for a functioning life after serving a sentence. As a production leader, you are a key person in this work, leading, supporting, and motivating the inmates in their daily activities and contributing to creating structure, responsibility, and development in everyday life.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a production leader in the carpentry workshop, you have direct contact with our clients in the prison's production. In your daily contact with the inmates, your work contributes to their learning and encourages them to reflect on their situation.

After the introduction, you will be responsible for the daily operations in the carpentry workshop. You will work together with other staff in production to introduce and guide clients placed in our carpentry department. You will plan, delegate tasks, and ensure that our deliveries are made on time. You will also participate in the production work yourself. Together with your colleagues, you will be responsible for production planning. Handling simpler administrative tasks related to the inmates is also part of the job.

During the low season in the carpentry workshop, some flexibility is required. Depending on the season, the work may involve participating in other areas of production at the prison, such as in our agricultural operations. This means you need to be prepared to switch tasks and contribute where the need is greatest.
