Your Role

As an optoelectronics engineer in the Engineer group within "Sensor", you will be part of a team of 8 people working with electro-optical materials used by the armed forces. Specifically for this role, you will work with Gripen and other flying platforms. You will thus have a significant opportunity to influence and shape the role based on your experience and expertise.

Your tasks include the development and support of maintenance resources for electro-optical materials, including both hardware and software. There will also be project work that may involve tracking progress, scope, and budget, as well as documentation of completed work to meet the requirements of regulations such as EMAR, EASA, etc.

The work also involves support both internally and externally. Internally, support is provided to our optics workshop where you assist with troubleshooting complex problems and contribute to improvement work. You will also provide technical support to external customers, end-users, and other Saab units in need of assistance.

The role offers significant development opportunities where you will have the chance to train internally in our systems and work with new modern technology.

The position is located in Arboga.

Your Profile

We prefer that you have a high school education with a focus on aviation technology and possess basic competence in electronics. As a person, you are responsible, proactive, and have good problem-solving skills. In the role of optoelectronics engineer with a focus on aviation, you will work both independently and in a team. You have good communication skills in both spoken and written Swedish and English.

To thrive and succeed in the role, you work systematically and meticulously. We would like you to be open, outgoing, and relationship-building. You view working both practically and analytically positively. You need to be able to plan and manage your day independently and sometimes take on leading and driving roles in our cases and assignments.

Meritorious:

• Post-secondary education in aviation technology
• Experience in measurement technology and troubleshooting
• Knowledge or interest in Optics/Optronics, IR technology, and Laser

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the current regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may entail requirements for certain citizenship.
