You will be part of the Solution Center, our 2nd line team, where you will learn the breadth of Stena's IT support and take responsibility for our DBA area. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work alongside our experienced colleagues who will train and guide you to grow into your role as a database technician.

Main Responsibilities:

• Database Management: Install, configure, and upgrade MS SQL databases. Monitor and optimize performance to ensure efficient operation and conduct regular backup and recovery procedures.
• Technical Support: Provide support for database-related issues and ensure quick resolution of incidents and service requests.
• Participation in Business Projects: When you are ready, take responsibility for our DBA area in various business projects.
• Security and Integrity: Implement and maintain security measures to protect databases from unauthorized access and potential threats. Manage user permissions and ensure data integrity.
• Performance Optimization: Analyze and optimize database queries and configurations to improve performance and reliability. Monitor the database and address performance bottlenecks.
• Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing: Work closely with other IT team members, share your knowledge, and learn from others. Promote a collaborative and innovative team environment.
• Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest trends in database technology and IT security threats. Research and evaluate new tools and techniques to enhance database operations and performance.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Experience in SQL database administration.
• Experience in 2nd line support or working within an IT operations team.
• At least a high school diploma in IT-related education, and/or equivalent work experience in IT.
• Strong communication skills to effectively present and discuss technical information with various stakeholders.
• Experience in server management or other IT operations functions, such as automation, is a plus.
• Fluency in both spoken and written Swedish and English.
