The Workplace

The Culture and Leisure Administration in Trelleborg creates meeting places for children, youth, and adults through culture, sports, and events. We deliver knowledge, experiences, and services to the municipality's residents, associations, and visitors.

Trelleborg Museum, founded in 1898, has a rich collection focusing on cultural history, photography, and art. The museum offers varying exhibitions, from contemporary art to the internationally renowned Skateholm excavation.

Trelleborgen, a partially reconstructed Viking fortress with a farm and museum, is a popular tourist destination with a new exhibition inaugurated in 2022.

Axel Ebbes Art Hall showcases the sculptor Axel Ebbes' works and is undergoing extensive renovation to include temporary exhibitions and a studio.

The museums have a broad educational program, their own exhibitions, and collaborate with universities and researchers.

Our goal is to create an inclusive cultural offering that promotes democracy, equality, and creativity for all, regardless of background or circumstances.

Job Responsibilities

Trelleborg Museums have initiated several participant-driven projects in recent years that have focused on the dreams, voices, visions, and creativity of Trelleborg's residents. With the establishment of a new position focusing on community culture and participant-driven processes, the museums aim to integrate this methodology more permanently into their operations. In your role, you will build networks with the residents of the municipality and work towards increased democratization and engagement in the local cultural life. You will be instrumental in developing the museums' work processes to create more open, accessible, and relevant art, culture, and museum experiences where the local community's opportunities to be seen, heard, and influence are central. Furthermore, you will work with the museums' communication and marketing on social media and other relevant channels. Evening and weekend work may occur.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

• Professional experience in community culture and participant-driven processes
• Professional experience in project management
• A degree in communication or culture
• A valid driver's license (B)

Great importance will be placed on personal qualities.
