Workplace Description

The position of librarian is located at LTH Library.

LTH Library provides user-oriented services to the faculty's students, teachers, and researchers, as well as to the public. The library actively collaborates within the library network at Lund University and participates in various groups to develop library services and offerings. LTH Library is a workplace undergoing change, focusing on creating the library of the future, and we are now seeking a new competent colleague who will focus on teaching.

Responsibilities and Duties

Your responsibilities include, among other things:

• Having overall responsibility for LTH Library's teaching.
• Teaching information retrieval, source criticism, and reference management in LTH's programs and courses.
• Participating in the pedagogical process in collaboration with course responsible teachers.
• Developing teaching methods with an emphasis on progression within LTH's education.
• Planning and driving work on academic writing for students in collaboration between librarians and language educators.
• Maintaining contact with other departments and areas of operation within LTH as well as with the library network at Lund University.
• Marketing the teaching services encompassed within the library's mission.
• Actively working on accessibility and inclusion in teaching materials and in your own teaching methodology.

The position also includes general librarian duties, including service at the information and loan desk and other tasks as needed.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with pedagogical skills who can convey knowledge to both large and small groups. Your ambition is to contribute to student learning and increase their information competence. You are knowledgeable about the latest pedagogical developments in libraries and education, and you are curious and interested in the opportunities within our profession. You are positively inclined towards constructive change and are eager to present ideas that develop the operations.

Requirements for the position are:

• Academic degree in library and information science.
• Work experience from libraries.
• Teaching experience.
• Very good knowledge of Swedish and English in both spoken and written form.

Meritorious for the position are:

• Work experience from libraries in schools and education; school, college, or university libraries.
• A clear demonstrated pedagogical ability.
• Experience in planning and developing teaching in media and information literacy, preferably together with educators and teachers.
