Our Operations
At the gynecology department 96C1, approximately 1600 patients from the entire Healthcare Region Central Sweden receive care each year. We are very proud to have been certified as a European center for advanced ovarian cancer surgery and operate on about 80-100 women with ovarian cancer each year. We also provide national highly specialized care for certain endometriosis cases, focusing on advanced surgery. Through our emergency department, patients of all ages with various gynecological conditions come for examination, surgery, and treatment. We have close cooperation with other units within the women's health department and also care for certain obstetric patients.
The combination of planned and acute operations means that no day is the same, and we learn and develop together constantly. Working in women's health places high demands on our medical competence but also on our ability to be attentive to the individuals we encounter, who, like us who work here, all have different backgrounds and experiences. Supporting women in all stages of life, being there when circumstances are at their most challenging, and providing the very best care to our patients is something we are passionate about in our field.
Your Mission
In the gynecology department 96 C1, you will care for patients who are being examined and operated on for gynecological cancer and other gynecological diseases. You will also meet patients seeking acute gynecological care, for example, with complications during early pregnancy or infections, as well as those seeking abortion. As a nursing assistant, you work closely with the patient providing basic care. You work in a care team together with nurses, monitor vital signs, dress wounds, oversee and check fluid balance, work with nutrition and mobilization, and much more. During the night, in addition to the ward, you will also be responsible for receiving, triaging, and caring for patients who seek our emergency department for gynecology. You will work together with nurses and doctors, taking observations and assisting during examinations.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for you who are a nursing assistant with proof of protected professional title or a nursing student after semester 3 or a medical student after semester 6. You have experience in surgical inpatient care and preferably in gynecological care and emergency care, as well as experience with the journal system Cosmic. As a person, you are structured, meticulous, and flexible with good communication skills in both speech and writing. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
Your Competence
You have a well-developed ability to create a holistic view of the patient and to communicate any changes in the patient's condition through good communication skills. We also place great importance on good collaboration skills as this is essential in the care team and with other colleagues.
We Offer
We offer you a part-time position as a nursing assistant in the gynecology department 96C1. We expect you to be available 1 weekend a month as scheduled and thereafter according to the needs of the department and your own possibilities. In the summer, there is an opportunity to take on a longer summer position. Orientation will be planned according to your needs and previous experience.
We have a workplace where we all value cooperation, community, and well-being. Together, we create a good working environment where you as an employee are an important part of driving and developing the operations forward to provide the best care for our patients.
