The County Administrative Board is the government's representative in the county and coordinates regional development work. We work with issues related to environmental and nature conservation, rural areas, urban planning, animal welfare, preparedness, gender equality, integration, and cultural heritage. The Position

The position is located in the Community Building Unit where 23 people work mainly with issues related to housing, climate, energy, cultural heritage, infrastructure, GIS, and urban planning.

The work in the unit is carried out in close collaboration with the county's municipalities, government agencies, businesses, organizations, and citizens. The entire unit's work is based on legislation and specific government assignments. You will be part of the planning and housing function where planners, building engineers, etc. work together.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for an employee who will work with climate adaptation issues. You will coordinate work at the regional level regarding adaptation to a changing climate, including initiating, supporting, and following up on municipalities' climate adaptation efforts. An important task is to provide planning support, offer overarching advice, organize meetings, etc. Since we have recently decided on a regional action plan for climate adaptation, identified measures need to be followed up. Our climate and vulnerability analysis also needs to be updated soon.

Since the County Administrative Board, according to the Planning and Building Act, has a basis for intervention regarding flooding, landslides, and erosion, it is also part of the work to support the board's planners in the area and in the processing of plans (comprehensive plans and detailed plans). Responding to other referrals and other case processing may also be included.

To work effectively in the area of climate adaptation, monitoring of the external environment is necessary. A suitable way to obtain this monitoring is to join various networks, participate in research projects, or other collaborative projects at the regional or national level. Some examples of this are the joint climate adaptation network of the County Administrative Boards and the Regional Coastal Cooperation Skåne-Halland.

Qualifications

You should have a university degree in community building, environmental, or natural sciences or other education deemed equivalent by the employer. You should have experience in the field of climate adaptation, such as risk management. You should have good computer skills and preferably be able to work in GIS. A driver's license (B) is required for this position.

It is advantageous if you have experience working with climate adaptation in the public sector or municipalities. It is also advantageous if you have knowledge of the community building process and physical planning. Experience working under the climate adaptation regulation is also a merit.

Since the assignment involves a high degree of independent work, you need to be structured and analytical. As a person, you should have a good ability to initiate and complete tasks. You are pedagogical and can explain complicated matters in a simple way. Your ability to express yourself clearly in speech and writing is also a prerequisite for the position as you may represent the County Administrative Board in various contexts.

The work involves some contact with the outside world, so it is important that you find it easy to make contact and build relationships. We see good collaboration skills and contributing to a positive work environment as prerequisites.
