Habilitation is specialized health and medical care for children and adolescents with autism, intellectual disabilities, mobility impairments, or acquired brain injuries. We provide health-promoting and therapeutic interventions based on each individual's unique needs and circumstances, and we have specialist knowledge of how disabilities can affect daily life, health, and development.

Responsibilities

As an occupational therapist at Habilitation for children and adolescents, you will be part of a team together with physiotherapists, speech therapists, special educators, social workers, nurses, doctors, and psychologists. Your responsibilities include assessing and evaluating the patient's abilities regarding, for example, hand function, time perception, activity balance, and daily activities. Subsequently, interventions are planned together with the team, the patient, and their network. You will also conduct targeted treatment where prescribing individually adapted aids and orthoses is a significant part.

The patient's own participation and understanding of the interventions provided are important to us, and we work systematically with visual support before and during visits, e.g., through pictorial invitations, schedule images, signs as AAC, etc.

We work from a consultative approach where the therapists in the team are largely advisors to the patient and their immediate environment, such as guardians and school staff. Interventions can be provided both individually and in groups and at the clinic or in the patient's home or school.

You will receive an introduction, collegial supervision, and professional development work with other occupational therapists within Habilitation & Health.

Qualifications

You must be a licensed occupational therapist. Experience in habilitation, working with children and adolescents, and interdisciplinary collaboration is advantageous. You have a clear patient focus and work based on scientifically proven methods and clinical experience. You have a good ability to organize and structure your patient work independently. Collaboration skills, flexibility, and a good attitude are essential for us, so great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. The position involves travel, so a B driver's license is a requirement.
