At Volvo CE in Eskilstuna, you will have a central and strategic role where you are responsible for creating robust, efficient, and automated production solutions that drive our business forward. As a Senior Production Engineer in automation, you will work both operationally and long-term, close to our value flows, and become a key person in our ongoing technology and investment development.

About the role

In the role of Senior Production Engineer Automation, you will create the production technical conditions that enable optimized production economy, high production quality, and a safe, modern working environment. You will translate technical expertise into practical, value-creating automation and production solutions. With your experience, you will lead both projects and people – and drive change by inspiring and convincing.

Your responsibilities

  • Develop, standardize, and improve automated production processes and technical solutions.
  • Lead and participate in technical improvement projects and act as a requirement setter and reference person in investment projects related to automation.
  • Be responsible for building new production cells within automation and optimizing the availability of existing installations.
  • Perform analyses and develop methods, tools, and recommendations to strengthen the value flows.
  • Identify and solve complex technical problems – from data-driven analysis to practical implementation.
  • Drive the development of work methods to strengthen the organization’s productivity, quality, and safety.
  • Create and develop a strong network with suppliers and partners within automation.
  • Contribute to creating a learning culture by coaching colleagues and spreading knowledge within the technical field.

Qualifications

  • B.Sc or M.Sc in automation, mechatronics, mechanical engineering, or another relevant technical field – or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience from the manufacturing industry, preferably within automation, robotics, or advanced production technology.
  • Experience in leading projects and driving larger technical initiatives.
  • Very good knowledge of engineering tools and preferably experience with Volvo's systems and processes.
  • Good ability to create problem descriptions, base decisions on facts, and translate technical concepts into practical solutions.
  • Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
