Job Description
We are looking for an engaged and driven Health & Safety Support for an important consulting assignment in the Nordics. You will play a key role in strengthening the safety culture and preparing the organization for ISO 45001 certification. This is a part-time position of 20 hours per week.
Job Summary
As a Health & Safety Support, you will provide a wide range of support activities to our Environment, Health, and Safety team (EHS). You will collaborate with various stakeholders and ensure that tasks are completed efficiently and independently within established procedures. The role involves managing complex issues, driving improvement projects, and ensuring that the organization meets all relevant legal requirements and internal policies. The assignment is particularly important as we need to address recently identified deficiencies in the safety culture and ensure that corrective actions (CAPAs) from the latest corporate safety audit are closed within a year.
Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Support & Collaboration: Provide comprehensive support to the EHS team and ensure effective completion of tasks.
- Inspections & Risk Analysis: Conduct periodic safety inspections according to advanced protocols, identify hazards, and recommend corrective actions.
- Equipment Management: Maintain inventories of all safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE), including tracking usage, maintenance, and replacement dates.
- Investigations: Manage complex and in-depth investigations of accidents/incidents, analyze root causes, and produce actionable reports.
- Systems & Tools: Regularly test and use administrative tools to ensure they meet organizational and legal requirements.
- Documentation & Compliance: Routinely review safety records for accuracy and compliance, and assist in adhering to federal, state, and local EHS regulations and standards.
- Improvement Initiatives: Develop and drive improvement projects involving multiple units and implement new supportive process activities.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or vocational training.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in Environmental Safety, Occupational Health, Safety Management, or equivalent.
