About Us

The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is a multidisciplinary specialist service that includes a family therapy, cognitive, psychodynamic, and neuropsychological understanding perspective.

Our task is to detect, investigate, and treat severe to moderate mental health issues in children and adolescents under 18 years old and their families.

The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Care Unit is for children and adolescents with severe psychiatric problems who need inpatient care. The length of stay varies depending on the assignment, and we function as both an acute and a treatment unit.

Region Blekinge invests in educational employment for academic specialist training for nurses with the aim of further enhancing competence in prioritized areas for better care of our patients.

About the Job

You will be employed in a permanent full-time position as a nurse. The educational employment lasts for one year for full-time studies or two years for part-time studies. You are entitled to contractual vacation and salary in accordance with the applicable collective agreement.

After completing the training, you will be placed in a position at the BUP care unit in Karlskrona. We offer a stimulating and educational work environment based on our core values - commitment, quality, and collaboration. Employment as a specialist nurse occurs after successful completion of the training, effective from the date the educational institution issues the diploma.

About You

We are looking for a licensed nurse who will be accepted into the specialist nursing program with a focus on psychiatry starting in the autumn semester of 2025. You have a drive to work with development and improvements and see it as a challenge to complete your specialist training closely linked to the operations you will work in. As a person, you are flexible, have the ability to see the big picture, want to work cross-professionally, and have good collaboration skills. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

It is an advantage if you have several years of clinical experience as a nurse in psychiatry. Please note that you must apply for the training yourself. Nurses accepted into the training in the local area are prioritized for this position.

Applicants who are considered for employment must present an extract from the Police Authority's criminal record before employment. Region Blekinge places all permanent staff in a crisis preparedness role. Some of our positions are security classified, where the employee must undergo a security clearance interview and background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585).
