The Role of Psychologist and PTP Psychologist

We are now looking for two new colleagues, a psychologist and a PTP psychologist, for the Child Health Care in Värnamo.

As a psychologist with us, you will work in a care chain from pregnancy to transition into school health care. With us, you will have the opportunity to work with both children and adults. Most interventions involve support in various ways in parenting, both individually and in groups. This can range from supporting parents in addressing and managing various development-related behaviors in their children to fear of childbirth and postpartum depression. Interventions to promote interaction and attachment are also part of the assignment.

You will work with assessment and investigation of children at a basic level in preschool age and provide consultation to child health care nurses and midwives. In addition to close collaboration with child health care nurses, you will also cooperate with other professionals at the family centers in the area. Regarding the individual child/family, you will also collaborate with, for example, preschools and social services as needed.

You will be offered a permanent full-time position with a start date according to agreement.

As a PTP psychologist with us, you will design your service plan together with your supervisor. The Child Health Care has a wide range of tasks and development issues, which creates a good setup for your year as a PTP psychologist. Previous PTP psychologists have conducted parent groups based on the theme of emotionally strong children, which has been experienced as a developing element in the PTP service. Opportunities to supervise, lecture, or include educational elements for our nurses are also popular parts of the other psychological work. The Child Health Care in Region Jönköpings län is a separate county-wide operation, where all the county's parent and child health care psychologists are gathered under a common psychology unit with a licensed psychologist as the head. There are often PTP psychologists in the operation as we strive to offer future psychologists a platform to start their professional development in a safe context.

The positions will be based at the child health care in Värnamo, where there is already a licensed colleague.

Your Profile

The positions require one of the following:

• Licensed psychologist with an interest in parental and developmental psychology to be considered for the psychologist position
• Completed psychology degree to be considered for the PTP psychologist position.
