to apply for the job
Make a difference. Every day.
Are you a licensed nurse who is confident in your professional role and wants to contribute your pedagogical skills and expertise to our department? Then you might be the one we are looking for to fill the role of care leader.
In newly renovated premises in the main building of the hospital, we care for patients with stroke and other neurological diseases such as Parkinson's, Guillain-Barré, myasthenia gravis, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, and brain tumors. Due to the department's focus on neurology and stroke patients, we also encounter acute situations and have close collaboration with the emergency department. The department currently has two care teams with fourteen care places, of which five are monitoring places with telemetry capability. We also have three day care places.
At the beginning of 2026, we will expand to three care teams, which means that two of the teams will have a maximum of seven patients each. The monitoring unit will have five (plus one) patients. This gives us the opportunity for a better workload in the care teams for our nurses and nursing assistants.

RESPONSIBILITIES
As a central part of our team, you act as a competence support and sounding board for both colleagues and newly hired employees. You are responsible for planning and conducting introductions, as well as mentoring, educating, and teaching new hires. You follow up on their development in clinical work and organize follow-ups and evaluations during and after the introduction period. In addition to introductions and mentoring for new employees, you work for the development of all colleagues. Together with the unit manager, you plan for the competence development of the nursing staff and are responsible for implementing competence-enhancing activities.
As a care leader, you participate in clinical work and perform tasks within your area of competence as a nurse. Additionally, you support your colleagues with guidance, feedback, and constructive criticism based on arising care situations. For example, it is part of your assignment to hold reflective conversations with employees within the nursing teams and to support the handling of ethical dilemmas in care situations.
An important part of your work is to collaborate with the unit manager to identify areas for development in nursing work within the unit and to be involved in the development of new routines, guidelines, and working methods based on evidence-based knowledge. You work to create good conditions for development work and to ensure the implementation of decided routines, guidelines, and working methods. As part of the development work, you also advocate for increased patient and relative involvement in care, including inviting relatives to conversations and being receptive to feedback that can improve the service.
In your role, you have many collaboration interfaces and work with quality and patient safety administrators (KPH) and quality and patient safety representatives (KPO), clinical teachers, and other care leaders within the area of operation, the hospital, and the administration.
