Our Intensive Care Unit

Our intensive care unit has two high-tech intensive care beds and four intermediate care beds. Here, we care for patients from the medical, surgical, and orthopedic clinics. During on-call hours, we receive postoperative patients and also perform short ICU visits such as electrical cardioversion, CVK insertions, and lumbar punctures.

As an Intensive Care Nurse

As an intensive care nurse with us, you will be part of an engaged and close-knit team that works with advanced care and life-saving interventions - where every day makes a difference. We enjoy our work, have a lot of laughter, and are characterized by caring for each other and having high professional pride. We offer you an individually tailored introduction based on your needs and skills. There are good opportunities to take an advanced course (15 credits) in Intensive Care in Uppsala.

Your Responsibilities

We are now looking for an ICU nurse for a mixed position of 100%. The working degree can be discussed if there are other preferences; do you want to combine two positions or can you only work part-time? Don’t hesitate to reach out, and we will look at the possibilities.

We care for patients with varying diagnoses. As an ICU nurse, you are responsible for advanced nursing of patients with impending or manifest failure of vital functions in severe medical conditions, accidents, and postoperative care. You monitor the patient's vital parameters and act based on the changes that occur.

We work in a team with nursing assistants and anesthesiologists. The work is varied, challenging, and you learn something new every day. Our schedule includes time for development work, teaching, and internal lectures through active departmental meetings.

Your Skills and Competencies

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with specialized training in intensive care. It is important for us that you are confident, stable, and enjoy taking initiative. We value your ability to collaborate and communicate effectively. If changes occur during the shift, we support each other in the team, and it helps if you are flexible in your working style. Your good judgment is valuable for making your own assessments and priorities, sometimes with limited information and time. It is also important that you understand your significant role as a nurse and can ensure the best for the patient and the organization in your actions and decisions.
