About the unit
FMTIS has a collective responsibility for the operation, maintenance, and management of the Armed Forces' technical command support systems. The systems support military operations at sea, on land, and in the air – in Sweden and abroad. The FMTIS Systems Unit operates in several locations across the country and is responsible for the operation and maintenance of large parts of the Armed Forces' infrastructure for communication, radio, radar, and IT systems. The main tasks of the Systems Unit are to ensure that the technical systems have the availability required by the Armed Forces.
Main tasks
The work involves technical management of technical systems belonging to the Armed Forces' Signal Protection System. You possess a technical understanding and a basic technical competence to guide specialists with deep technical knowledge to utilize their expertise in the right direction. Your main tasks include:
- leading, planning, and directing the system management of assigned technical systems
- planning, ordering, and following up preventive maintenance according to maintenance regulations or other governing documents
- establishing maintenance plans for assigned materials/systems (including operation, maintenance, and modification measures throughout the year)
- conducting production follow-up meetings with the maintenance provider
- acting as technical support and requirements setter towards the operations organization
- being a point of contact between various actors within total defense
- reviewing documentation, e.g., maintenance documents
- reporting needs for changes to the responsible technical system leader and material area manager
- establishing and updating management and system integrity plans
- participating in or leading projects aimed at strengthening or adding new capabilities to the area.

REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- University education with a focus on IT/Telecom, or equivalent work experience deemed comparable by the employer
- Experience in development and management work within IT/Telecom
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
- Manual B driver's license

We are looking for someone who is curious, engaged, and service-oriented, has an easy time making contact with people, and has a good ability to express themselves in speech and writing. You are used to leading and engaging others and have a strong personal drive. You are a good team player while also willing to take initiative and responsibility. You possess good administrative skills. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
MERITORIOUS
- Experience working with various Signal Protection products
- Experience in technical management of systems
- Experience with command support systems and their infrastructure within the Armed Forces
- Experience in project management
- Experience in practical leadership, such as team leader or equivalent
- Language skills in technical English
