Group Manager in Automation

Your Upcoming Role

As the group manager for our automation engineers, you will actively work with our automation systems, industrial IT, and process technology, lead your team, and ensure their development and a good working environment.

The group currently consists of nine automation engineers who are responsible for the development and management of VA SYD's automation. The responsibilities include:

• Contributing to the long-term development of the business
• Initiating and coordinating measures to streamline the management of facilities
• Carrying out and participating in projects while ensuring quality and delivery
• Being involved in developing focus areas such as working environment and safety
• Management and development of our automation systems
• Standard managerial tasks such as personnel development, recruitment, and budget work

Organizationally, you will be placed within the Production Department, but your responsibilities include all of VA SYD's facilities related to sewage and drinking water. You will be based in Sjölunda in Malmö, and your team will be located at VA SYD's facilities in Lund, Eslöv, and Malmö.

Who Are You?

We are looking for someone with a technical background in automation and preferably experience in driving projects within the industry. You have a strong technical understanding and a natural ability to lead and motivate others.

As a person, you have the drive and ability to handle a broad and varied role. Keeping many balls in the air and being flexible in a dynamic work environment is something you thrive in.

You are driven by creating results through others and enjoy coaching your employees. You like to lead in change and encourage ideas and innovation. We place great importance on your ability to plan, collaborate, and communicate in an open and positive manner to develop the business. Furthermore, you are proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written.

Your Experiences

You who are applying have:

• A university degree with a focus on automation or equivalent knowledge acquired in another way
• Experience in leading others, preferably in change and ideally as a manager
• Worked in the water and wastewater industry, process industry, or equivalent
• Good knowledge of industrial automation solutions (PLC/DCS/SCADA)
• Preferably system knowledge in ABB and/or Beckhoff (software and hardware) as well as knowledge in system ownership and system management
• A valid driver's license (B)
