We are looking for you who are an occupational therapist and want to work with children and adolescents aged 0-20 years with various disabilities such as mobility impairments, intellectual disabilities (ID), autism spectrum disorders combined with ID, hearing and visual impairments, or multiple disabilities in combination. You will work closely with the child/adolescent's family and in collaboration with staff from other services as well as your own geographical team at the Child and Adolescent Rehabilitation (BUH).


The Child and Adolescent Rehabilitation offers support and treatment to children and adolescents with disabilities and their families and networks. In the team, several different professional roles collaborate. We have social workers, speech therapists, psychologists, special educators, doctors, secretaries, unit managers, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists. The Child and Adolescent Rehabilitation is part of the Area of Close Care.

Within the Area of Close Care, there are approximately 2,400 employees across eleven different service areas. Close care includes care that is common, frequently occurring, and geographically close to patients. The area includes primary care services with health centers, health center emergency services, youth clinics, medical advice, asylum and immigrant health, the generally specialized care at the county's three hospitals, and geriatric clinics as well as services within rehabilitation and assistive devices. By expanding collaboration between health centers, specialized hospital care, and the county's municipalities, we create even better care - always with the patient's best interests in focus.

Occupational Therapist for Child and Adolescent Rehabilitation

Job Responsibilities

In your work at BUH, you will meet the child/adolescent at our clinics and in the environments where the child/adolescent spends time, such as preschool, school, residential facilities, and at home. The varied job tasks include assessment and treatment of the child/adolescent's functional and activity abilities, including areas such as personal care, mobility, motor skills, communication/cognition.

You will conduct trials, provide advice and support, and follow up on prescriptions for assistive devices. You will write certificates and assist parents when they seek housing and environmental adaptations as well as when applying for LSS. You will participate in BUH's group activities. Furthermore, you will provide guidance and advice to parents, assistants, and other partners.

You will have meetings with the team every week and also regularly meet with colleagues within the Child and Adolescent Rehabilitation. We will plan your introduction individually, and you will have a mentor to guide you into the work.

The placement for this position is at our clinic in Örebro, and the work area is the northern parts of Örebro municipality.

Qualifications

Licensed Occupational Therapist.

A valid driver's license (B) is required as travel in the job is necessary.

Meritorious:

Experience working with children and adolescents and/or

with individuals with disabilities or neurological diseases is meritorious. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with children and adolescents, is flexible, and wants to be part of a cohesive and efficient team.
