Then you might be the right person for the position of nurse at Södermalmshemmet!

About the position

The position as a nurse will initially be placed at Södermalmshemmet until the turn of the year 2026/2027 when we will move to the brand new facility Wadköpings special housing, which is part of the health district.

As a nurse with us at Södermalmshemmet and Wadköpings special housing, you will play a key role in creating a meaningful everyday life for our tenants/customers/patients. You will have care responsibility for a number of our tenants, which includes guiding in care, health, and medical tasks.

We work preventively in teams with nurses, occupational therapists, care staff, and unit managers to create good and safe care. We also collaborate with doctors and physiotherapists from the region. For us, it is important to start from a person-centered and rehabilitative approach with our tenants/customers/patients' wishes and needs in focus.

Examples of tasks:

  • decide, implement, and follow up care measures
  • be responsible for guidance and training in care
  • instruct and delegate health and medical tasks to care staff
  • maintain contact with and provide support to relatives
  • document in various quality registers and operational systems
  • participate in and drive continuous improvement and development of our operations

About the workplace

Södermalmshemmet is located in Södercity right next to the city center and is the largest special housing for the elderly in Örebro municipality with 108 places distributed over 12 departments. Ten departments focus on cognitive impairment and two departments focus on somatic care.

Our new facility in Wadköping will have 100 places distributed over 10 departments.

Here, professional categories such as care staff, nurses, occupational therapists, unit managers, and administrators work closely with relatives and tenants. Our ambition is to provide all tenants with a safe and meaningful existence where we start from the individual needs of the resident and adapt care and support accordingly.

As a nurse at Södermalmshemmet/Wadköping, you will be part of the Health and Medical Care Organization (HS). All nurses and occupational therapists within the municipality's special housing work under one organization, which allows us to create better conditions, equitable care, and protect Örebro municipality's health and medical resources. For you as a nurse, this also means that you will have a manager who is fundamentally licensed and thus well-versed in the issues you face in your work.

Qualifications

As a nurse, you are confident in yourself and have good self-awareness. You enjoy having your own areas of responsibility and take responsibility for your tasks in an independent and structured manner. Being attentive and accommodating in your interactions, both with colleagues and tenants/customers/patients, is a given for you. You are clear in your communication and have the ability to ensure that information is conveyed. Additionally, you easily adapt to changing circumstances and see opportunities and solutions in what you face. Furthermore, you master the Swedish language in a way that allows you to communicate with tenants/customers/patients and other staff, as well as document what the operations require. Since the work involves digital documentation in operational systems, good computer skills are required.

We place great importance on personal suitability.

Requirements:

  • licensed nurse
  • B driver's license (for manual transmission)

Meritorious:

  • specialist nurse with a focus on the elderly and geriatrics
  • documented experience of working as a nurse within municipal operations
  • experience working as a nurse in special housing
  • experience and training in dementia care
  • experience working in operational systems

Scope and start date

Employment form: permanent employment

Employment rate: 100%

Start date: by agreement

Number of positions: 7-9
