Job Advertisement: Boiler and Filter Operators

Vargön Alloys AB is one of Europe's largest manufacturers of ferrochrome and has approximately 230 employees. The company is beautifully located by the Göta River in Vänersborg municipality and is part of CoreX Holding. Our product, ferrochrome, is an alloy that gives steel hardness and resistance to corrosion.

About the Position

Your task consists of both controlling and monitoring the process via the control room, as well as practical operational tasks in the production facility. You will be part of one of five shift teams. Each shift team of about 15 people includes three trained boiler and filter operators. Each shift is led by a team leader. The shift pattern is a 3-shift system where you work seven days (day, evening, night), have four or five days off, work seven, and so on, alternating according to a rolling annual schedule.

It is required that you as a person are meticulous and can handle a lot of information at once where quick decisions may be needed.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone with a basic technical education in operations or equivalent, and we prefer that you have experience working with pressurized systems or similar process industries. It is highly meritorious if you are certified in pressurized equipment category 1 (Afs 2017:3). You should also have good knowledge of the Swedish language and good computer skills.

For those who do not have previous experience with our specific process, we offer internal training at our facility, where you will have the opportunity to learn the facility and processes step by step alongside experienced colleagues.
