ABOUT THE ROLE

Our laboratory team at the distillery in Nöbbelöv, outside Kristianstad, is now looking for a dedicated laboratory engineer. With us, you will have a role in a company with strong values, high quality, and a focus on employee development. The laboratory at the distillery is part of the overall quality organization for The Absolut Group's vodka production.

As a laboratory engineer, you will be responsible for the daily analyses related to the quality control of our distillation process. You will work with various samples, ranging from wheat, water, mash, and rectified spirit, which are analyzed using methods such as HPLC, GC, and microbiological analyses.

The role also includes driving improvement and development of the laboratory's scientific methodology in accordance with operational goals and quality requirements.

Your main tasks:

  • Perform routine and development analyses related to the distillation process
  • Conduct method development, experimental planning, and experimental evaluation
  • Carry out calibration and maintenance of analytical equipment
  • Troubleshoot methods, analyses, and instruments in case of result deviations
  • Own and follow the instructions and method descriptions available for development and analysis work
  • Report and evaluate analysis results in our lab data system (LIMS)
  • Report, evaluate, and address deviations in our management system

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for someone with experience in industrial quality assurance within the food industry or equivalent process industry. You are meticulous, responsible, engaged, and enjoy both independent work and collaborating with others in a group. You see opportunities in change, are curious, enjoy developing processes and methods, and have a good ability to prioritize and make decisions.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A minimum of a 3-year university degree in chemistry/molecular biology. A requirement for education in analytical chemistry with deeper knowledge of chromatographic techniques such as HPLC and GC
  • Work experience in an analytical chemistry laboratory, which is a merit
  • Interest in microbiological analyses and a desire to further develop in this area
  • A strong safety mindset and a desire to contribute to a safe and sustainable work environment
  • Good computer skills as well as knowledge of instrument software and quality management systems
  • A valid driver's license and good proficiency in Swedish and English
