In our care department, we receive patients with acute surgical conditions and disorders of the upper gastrointestinal tract. Here, both pre- and postoperative care is provided with fast flows, varied tasks, and a high tempo with teamwork at the center. We work closely together - nursing assistants, nurses, doctors, and other professionals to offer the best possible care.

We offer an educational workplace with a variety of tasks, professional development, and internal training, as well as the opportunity to influence and develop care together with colleagues.

As a nursing assistant with us, you will work closely with patients and be an important part of the care chain.

Your responsibilities include:

• Basic care as well as pre- and postoperative care
• Monitoring and control taking with NEWS, pancreatitis checks, and head observations
• Some sampling
• Handling of drains, urinary catheters, stomas, etc.
• Dressing changes - drains, wounds, stomas, etc.
• Documentation and collaboration in the care team
• Preparation for surgery

The position involves day, evening, and weekend shifts with flexibility according to a flexitime agreement. Start date according to agreement.

Requirements:

• Trained nursing assistant who has completed the Health and Care program or the vocational package Health and Care in adult education
• Presentation of a diploma from VO-college and protected professional title

Meritorious:

• Experience in inpatient care
• Experience in emergency care, surgical nursing, or care for patients with gastrointestinal diseases

Information about the professional title

As of July 1, 2023, nursing assistant is a protected professional title (https://legitimation.socialstyrelsen.se/underskoterska-blir-en-skyddad-yrkestitel/). This means that you need proof from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title nursing assistant within health and care.

You can apply for the proof from July 1, 2023. If you do not have proof, you can continue to work in health and care but with a different title than nursing assistant. For those offered a job with us in Region Dalarna after July 1, this means that the title in your employment contract will be Care Assistant until you can present your proof. If you had a permanent position with the title nursing assistant when the new regulations came into effect on July 1, 2023, you can continue to use the nursing assistant title for 10 years. You can retain the title even if you change workplaces/employers after July 1. After that, you need proof of a protected professional title to use the title nursing assistant.
