About us
Avesta Hospital is a smaller county hospital with a 24/7 emergency department and three wards with a total of about 40 beds. Here, Emergency, Medicine, Geriatrics, and Rehabilitation are gathered in one clinic, providing fantastic conditions for quick and effective management throughout the care chain.
We also offer specialized outpatient care in: cardiology, endocrinology, nephrology, gastroenterology, sleep medicine, and dementia investigations, as well as general internal medicine and geriatric investigation and treatment.
With approximately 200 employees and a strong educational climate, our motto is: "Sweden's best junior doctor school" - which has contributed to our consistently high ranking in the medical placement AT ranking!

Job ResponsibilitiesYour role
As a junior doctor with us, you will have a broad and developing position where you primarily work within inpatient specialist care but also partially in the emergency department during longer temporary positions. You will become an important part of an engaged team and have the opportunity to develop in an environment that values learning and collaboration.
Additional InformationQualificationsRequirements:
- Swedish equivalent to at least C1 level
- Completed at least semester 10 of the medical education
Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities, suitability, and responsibility.
Meritorious:
- Previous experience in internal medicine or geriatrics
- Interest in internal medicine, geriatrics, rehabilitation, and emergency care
