Welcome to the Care and Welfare Administration

We work with support and care for the elderly and for people with disabilities. The goal is for them to live as active and independent lives as possible.

The Care and Welfare Administration is one of Sweden's largest employers in municipal care and welfare. Approximately 7,500 employees work here based on our values – making a difference, working together, and welcoming innovation. More information about working in Uppsala Municipality can be found at this link (https://www.uppsala.se/jobb/vard-halsa-omsorg/).

Within the Care and Welfare Administration, full-time work is the norm. This means that all permanent employees fundamentally have a full-time position. More information about what this means for this position will be provided during a potential interview. Personal assistants are exempt from the full-time norm.

Would you like to work in an engaged team where your skills truly make a difference? With us, you will have the opportunity to develop in your professional role and contribute to high-quality care.

About the Position

Dalbyhemmet is a residence with a department focused on dementia and a department focused on social psychiatry. We are currently looking for a nurse who will primarily work in social psychiatry. The nurses at Dalby work together and assist each other in both departments based on needs.

At Dalbyhemmet, you will work in an organization that invests in animals and nature as part of the care. Our cats, rabbits, and chickens bring great joy to both residents and staff.

We are looking for a nurse for a permanent position located at Dalbyhemmet for about 1 year, after which the placement may change after dialogue.

Job Description

As a nurse with us, you will have the opportunity to make a difference by contributing your skills, knowledge, and engagement with the user at the center. Your role will involve working with a variety of tasks within your area.

Your specific tasks will include:

  • assessing and planning the need for HSL interventions and evaluating treatment results.
  • supervising nursing staff
  • delegating HSL tasks to nursing staff
  • participating in team collaboration regarding users, for example, concerning fall risk assessments and Senior Alert

As a nurse, you will be part of the management team alongside other licensed personnel and team representatives. Our ambition is for you to develop the operations and yourself in close collaboration with your colleagues.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse. You need to have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, and be computer literate and familiar with documentation.

If you have experience working with elderly people and age-related diseases as well as within psychiatry/social psychiatry, it is an advantage.

You easily adapt to changing circumstances and can quickly adjust both perspectives and approaches. Changes are seen as opportunities. Goals and results are clear driving forces. Prioritization, planning, and actions are guided by what needs to be achieved, and direction is adjusted when goals change. Collaboration works well; you meet others in a responsive and smooth manner, communicate openly, and handle conflicts constructively.

Decisions are made even when information is limited or circumstances are difficult, and judgment is maintained even under time pressure. In both small and large contexts, you express yourself clearly, well-formulated, and with engagement. At the same time, you listen to the other party and adjust your communication according to the situation.
