A very important role where you make a concrete difference for society. As our colleague moves on within the company, we are now looking for YOU, our new Maintenance Technician for the hydropower operations in Junsele.

This is a role for you who thrive in a varied everyday life consisting of both ongoing maintenance and the more challenging tasks where your problem-solving skills are put to the test!

Hello!

We are Uniper, an international energy company driving the development towards fossil-free electricity production. We are proud to have been named Sweden's most attractive employer for two consecutive years in the Key Performance Institute's measurement. Our success is built on a workplace where people with different perspectives, mindsets, skills, and experiences come together. We believe in a workplace where every individual can contribute something valuable. Where everyone feels equally appreciated and respected, whether they work at our production facilities, the office, or from home. In our work for a sustainable future, a strong and integrated safety culture is fundamental, reflecting our corporate culture and commitment in everything we do. This is how we develop as a company and create a future together. We call it the Uniper Way, our corporate culture. We believe that the path to a sustainable future involves gradually developing and changing by setting measurable goals that we achieve together. Do you also believe in a fossil-free future? Join us on our journey. The beating heart of Energy!

Your role with us

As a maintenance technician, you primarily work with preventive and corrective maintenance of Uniper's hydropower plants to ensure high safety and operational availability. You also participate in projects and may, in the long term, after your knowledge level and interest, have your own areas of responsibility. This role involves continuous professional development and a unique opportunity to work with a whole that is hard to find. Here you get to work with the entire chain and really step forward in your professionalism. The position includes many points of contact both with colleagues at Uniper and with contractors at our power plants.

Examples of tasks:

• Periodic inspections / maintenance

• Troubleshooting

• Repairs

On-call duty is included in the position, which means you need to live within our operational area. Working hours are weekdays from 07:00 to 16:00 with on-call duty every 7th week.

The maintenance department consists of about 50 people, and there are great opportunities to influence, grow, and develop together with competent and pleasant colleagues.

Your closest team consists of a total of eight people of mixed ages, both women and men. You report to the Maintenance Manager, Mikael Nordström, who is a supportive and attentive manager looking forward to helping you develop your full potential with us.

Uniper is part of Sweden's critical infrastructure, and our operations are subject to regulations regarding security protection, export control, and nuclear non-proliferation. Therefore, we will conduct security checks for all our positions and complement them with background checks for security-classified positions, in accordance with the Security Protection Act. Uniper is part of critical societal operations in Sweden, which is why this position may be subject to military placement. A health examination, including a drug test, may also be relevant before employment.

Who we are looking for

As a person, you are engaged and proactive. You have good collaboration skills but can also make your own decisions and perform tasks independently. You are driven to develop and improve technology and operations together with your colleagues. The tasks can sometimes be technically challenging, and it takes time to understand how the entire chain works in our operations, so a bit of persistence and endurance can come in handy.

Requirements:

• Relevant education (at least a high school diploma) for work in one of the areas of electricity, automation, mechanics, or operations, or work experience in a similar role, preferably within the energy sector.

• B driver's license

• Very good knowledge of the Swedish language and good knowledge of the English language (spoken, written, and comprehension).

• Electrical competence corresponding to limited authorization B.

(If you do not have this today, it needs to be obtained during your initial time in the role as it is required for on-call duty included in the position).

Meritorious:

• University/college degree in the energy field.

• KY/YH education with a focus on energy and maintenance.

• Experience in project work.
