Addiction Unit

We aim to be an easily accessible and attractive service for individuals with addictions to alcohol, drugs, or gambling, as well as for relatives of those with addictions.

Our visitors are offered counseling, assessment, and addiction treatment in the form of ADDIS, MI, relapse prevention, HAP, 12-step programs, CRA, and CRAFT, which are evidence-based methods recommended in national guidelines. The organization has a long tradition of providing treatment and support for relatives in groups, as we see that it increases the opportunity for change. We also offer child conversations where children receive information and support. We have outreach work in the form of information and consultation to adjacent authorities and healthcare providers.

All staff within individual and family care are trained according to Signs of Safety. This means that we work with children, families, and networks to be involved in how problems can be solved. We believe in the individual's own abilities and conditions to take control of their future life. Through the Signs of Safety approach and various tools, we can create better conditions for sustainable solutions for those we meet.

Your Responsibilities

As one of our therapists in the alcohol and drug counseling will be absent for a period, you will be one of six individuals working closely together but also independently. You will conduct individual therapy sessions and be a group leader for various treatment groups. We care that everyone in the workgroup feels a holistic responsibility for the organization and our clients and that we are helpful to each other to reach our goals. Thus, you will be an important cog in making logistics work so that we can provide the best possible treatment.

Another central part of the job is to be involved in our development work with the ambition to offer evidence-based and qualitative treatment.

Who Are You?

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work; experience working with individuals with addictions is a requirement.

You have knowledge of current social legislation and are well-oriented in the various functions of society. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability and your ability to be a close partner in the workgroup.

In addition to the requirements for knowledge and experience, we see that you are a secure, engaged, and responsible person who easily collaborates with others and has the ability to meet people professionally. You can express yourself well in speech and writing. You enjoy speaking in front of groups and can convey information and knowledge in a pedagogical and inspiring way. You thrive in a workgroup with close collaboration and want to contribute to maintaining high quality and service levels in the organization.

About the Social Administration

As part of Region Gotland, we at the social administration work with social interventions such as counseling, support, and treatment. Our areas of operation include social services, home healthcare, elderly care, and care for individuals with disabilities throughout Gotland. Around the clock, we meet people of all ages and with various needs; children, families, adults, and the elderly. Together, we enable good conditions for care, support, and service throughout life.
