The hospital provides emergency and planned care for approximately 72,000 residents in Enköping, Håbo, and Södra Heby, and we also have specialist assignments throughout Uppsala County. A warm welcome to the Hospital in Enköping!
Our Operations
The Intermediate Care Unit (IMA) has about 35 employees and is the hospital's highest level of care with 5 patient beds. The unit is focused on medical intermediate care and primarily cares for patients with compromised vital functions, which includes handling advanced medical equipment and inotropic medications. The pace is varied, with sometimes high turnover of patients; our average length of stay is about two days.
Your Mission
Your tasks consist of nursing, monitoring, and treatment of patients with care needs that cannot be met in a regular ward. In addition to emergency care, we also conduct some planned activities such as electrical conversions and inpatient heart failure treatment. Together with an anesthesiologist, we staff the hospital's emergency search function. This means assisting other departments in acute situations and, on rare occasions, reinforcing ambulance services during patient transport to nearby hospitals.
As a nurse in IMA, you will work alongside a nursing assistant and be responsible for 1-3 patients, meaning there is truly time and opportunity to provide good and close care. We offer you a varied and stimulating job where you can utilize and develop your expertise. You will be part of a team while also expected to work independently.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for a licensed nurse with specialist training in intensive care, or alternatively, a general-trained nurse with experience in emergency care/intermediate care.
Your Competence
and a good work environment. You can quickly reprioritize, thrive in a changing pace, and enjoy varied tasks. You are confident in your professional role and can make independent decisions in acute situations.
We Offer
We offer a permanent full-time position; other working hours can be discussed. Working hours are from 21:00 to 07:15, with meal breaks. We have an individual schedule with a points model that allows for reduced working hours and enhanced on-call compensation. Rotating shifts, meaning some daytime/evening work, is also possible, and scheduled training during the day is included once per term. There is also an opportunity for you, as a general-trained nurse, to apply for specialist training in intensive care with a study salary from the employer.
We provide a tailored introduction based on previous experiences. You are welcome to shadow our department to meet us and gain insight into the care we provide. Start date is 2025-11-01, or by agreement.
As a new employee at the Hospital in Enköping, you will receive a solid and supportive start to your career. In addition to your workplace-specific introduction, you will also participate in our extensive introduction week for new employees, KULE - Clinical Education at the Hospital in Enköping, where we offer an interprofessional setup. Here, you will meet and collaborate with colleagues from various professional categories. For newly graduated nurses, we also offer an enhanced introduction for an additional three months. This includes reflective professional supervision as well as shadowing and coaching from our clinical adjunct. You will also participate in practical training at our KTC (Clinical Training Center), a safe and supportive environment to practice and develop your skills. We offer a dynamic and inspiring workplace where you can make a difference every day. There are also good opportunities for career development, with continuous further education and the possibility to advance within the hospital and Region Uppsala. We look forward to you becoming part of our team and contributing to making a difference in our patients' lives.
