Receptionist at Scandic Umeå Syd

No matter why guests come to us, few things are as appreciated as a friendly face welcoming them. You act as a host together with the rest of the hotel team, creating a world-class guest experience.

With us, you will take significant personal responsibility for making decisions that ensure guest satisfaction, and the teams develop and improve work methods and service as the world changes. We are convinced that it is when you get to develop and contribute all your skills and experience that we exceed guest expectations. On top of that, we have fun at work!

So bring your experiences, your commitment, and your way of thinking to us – and contribute to a culture where we truly care: about each other, our guests, and our planet. Welcome to Scandic!

What does the role entail?

As a receptionist, you are responsible for providing our guests with world-class service. You are the spider in the web, ensuring that the guest is always the focus. You go through the arrival list and pay attention to the details. You make sure that the guest's wishes are fulfilled. You always have a smile on your face and a creative solution in your back pocket. You solve most issues and are a star at turning an unhappy guest into a satisfied one. Your workplace is our lobby, where you meet the most guests. Your responsibilities also include administrative work, safety tasks, and sales work.

The work in reception involves checking in and out hotel guests, welcoming them, and providing the information they need about their stay. You manage bookings in the Opera Cloud system and handle administrative tasks related to guests and safety. All work is done with guest satisfaction and sales in focus.

The hotel is open 24/7, so it is important that you enjoy working shifts (mornings, afternoons, and weekends).

Who are you?

To fit into this role, we believe you have well-developed social skills and can handle many different things happening simultaneously. It is very important that you can convey good hospitality to the hotel's guests.

You also have experience and knowledge of working with a computer as a work tool.

Since the job largely consists of communicating with guests, good knowledge of Swedish and English is a prerequisite. If you speak another language, that is an advantage.

However, the most important are your personal qualities and your attitude. To fit into the role, you need to be a responsive and unpretentious team player who takes significant responsibility for your tasks and the overall result.

Information about the position

The position is a permanent employment on every other weekend.

We only accept applications via our website. All applications will be processed continuously, and the position may be filled before the application deadline, so we ask you to apply as soon as possible. In this recruitment, we use a simple service test during the selection process.

We look forward to welcoming you to us at Scandic!

P.S. On our website, you can read more about our culture, what the position entails, and our benefits!

We go further when differences are embraced. With us, you have the space to be yourself and develop in the direction you want, with secure conditions and fair agreements as a foundation. Bring your experiences, your commitment, and your way of thinking to us - contribute to a culture where we truly care: about each other, our guests, and our planet. Welcome to Scandic.
