1st Receptionist for Blå Huset

As the 1st receptionist for Stora Hotellet and U&Me Hotel, you and the reception manager are responsible for the guest's overall experience with us from start to finish. Together with the reception manager, you are responsible for the entire reception team that must deliver world-class hospitality in every guest interaction. This entails a leadership role that requires inspiration, goal-setting, and follow-up, teamwork, and creativity. You are fully responsible for personnel as well as financially responsible for your department.

As a person, you are confident, energetic, and have an infectious laugh. You easily see opportunities to solve problems, big or small, and you always prioritize the guest's journey with us. You are communicative and caring, clear in your communication, and skilled at setting goals and following up on them – because you know that this is the key to creating results. You are an inspiring force that creates and builds the team's desire to move forward – together!

As part of the reception team for Stora Hotellet and U&Me, you have a social and outgoing role that always focuses on delivering service at a first-class level in your daily work. You primarily work with the operation of the reception, handling check-ins and check-outs, welcoming guests, solving their requests and problems, as well as managing administrative tasks such as bookings and invoicing.

Responsibilities

  • World-class guest reception, premium service, and high availability for guests.
  • Striving in daily work to deliver hospitality beyond the ordinary.
  • Daily operation of the reception, e.g., check-ins and check-outs, bookings, and invoicing.
  • Actively recruit members to Best Western Rewards.
  • Drive upselling such as room upgrades and add-ons.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a big smile, a positive attitude, and a genuine commitment to the magic that happens in successful guest interactions. You have a broad understanding of how warm hospitality and personal attention can elevate the guest experience to a whole new level. We are looking for a 1st receptionist who stands out with excellent service and seizes every opportunity to provide that little extra to our guests. You are also;

  • Resilient, solution-focused, and attentive to guests' needs
  • Organized & meticulous
  • Enjoy working at a varied pace
  • Work well in a team
  • Have 1 year of experience as a hotel receptionist or a similar role in service on your CV
  • Leadership experience is an advantage
  • Fluent in Swedish and have good knowledge of English spoken/written

Meritorious

Familiarity with the booking systems Opera Cloud

Post-secondary education in hotel/tourism/restaurant/service management

Experience working with service and hospitality

Experience working in a Best Western hotel

Familiarity with Umeå as a tourist city

Language

The position is a permanent employment, working hours and start date according to agreement. The application deadline is October 1, we conduct interviews on an ongoing basis, so the position may be filled before the application deadline.
