About the role

As a Shipping Operator, you will be part of our dedicated logistics team in Boden, where you will help ensure that deliveries are handled, stored, and transported correctly. You will work with equipment such as forklifts and overhead cranes to load coils onto railway cars or trucks, scan labels to verify deliveries, and maintain good order and safety in the warehouse. You will also support new employees in their onboarding and training, handle deviations in production, and contribute to the development of our safety routines and processes.

Your responsibilities include:

• Safe loading of coils onto railway cars or trucks, in accordance with safety regulations.
• Scanning labels to ensure that coils are correctly placed in the warehouse and sent to the right destination.
• Assisting in the onboarding and training of new employees, sharing knowledge, and ensuring efficient and safe work.
• Maintaining high standards of order and cleanliness in the warehouse together with the team.
• In case of deviations or problems affecting production: taking necessary actions, reporting, and participating in root cause analysis.
• Actively contributing to a safe working environment by participating in the development and improvement of process controls and safety routines.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Experience in heavy industry, preferably steel industry, with at least three years of experience in a similar role.
• Practical experience operating forklifts and/or overhead cranes.
• Basic mechanical understanding and knowledge of safety routines in industry and logistics.
• Attention to detail, safety awareness, and the ability to work independently.
• Physical capability to work in demanding environments and at heights.
• The ability to mentor colleagues and contribute to a strong safety culture.
• A valid B driver's license (EU) is required. Other certifications such as overhead crane, forklift, or other heavy vehicles are considered a merit.
• Good knowledge of English, basic Swedish is a plus.

About Stegra

Stegra aims to transform the global steel industry by producing green hydrogen, iron, and steel – with the goal of eliminating carbon dioxide emissions. Instead of coal, we use green hydrogen and fossil-free electricity, which means our primary emissions will be water and heat.

Our ambition is to produce 5 million tons of green steel annually by 2030 in our fully integrated, digitized, and sustainable facility in Boden, northern Sweden – which is currently under construction. But this is just the beginning. Our expertise in green hydrogen will enable emission reductions in other industries as well, paving the way for a cleaner future.
