Your Role

As an automation technician, you are an important support function for the entire operation in Svappavaara. You work broadly with electrical, automation, and instrumentation issues, and have a varied everyday life with both planned and urgent tasks.

Examples of Work Tasks:

  • Electrical installations and troubleshooting throughout Svappavaara – from simpler tasks such as changing light bulbs to connecting machines, instruments, and control systems
  • Preventive and urgent maintenance as well as advanced troubleshooting and repairs of electrical, automation, and instrumentation equipment within LKAB's industrial area in Svappavaara
  • Participation in new installations, dismantling, inspection rounds (TK2 and TK3), and smaller projects
  • Contact person for urgent electrical issues and participation in the automation on-call list
  • Work with high-voltage equipment and responsibility for 6 kV cables in the open-pit mine

The work takes place in several different facilities with varying technology, which means that workdays look different. You work both indoors and outdoors with a broad mix of tasks, often together with colleagues. Together, you contribute to developing work methods and technology with a focus on safety, efficiency, and improvements that make a difference.

What You Bring

We are looking for someone who is solution-oriented and enjoys taking on new challenges. You find it easy to collaborate, communicate clearly, and are attentive in your interactions with both colleagues and other functions in the organization. You take responsibility for your work and have the ability to think ahead even when problems are unexpected. The role requires you to be flexible and comfortable switching between different tasks and contact areas.

To succeed in the role, we see that you have:

  • High school electrical education or equivalent
  • Driver's license (for manual transmission)
  • Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
  • Experience working with hardware (meritorious)
