Markverkstad Norr is a department within the Army Staff that operates in Arvidsjaur, Vidsel, Boden, Luleå, Umeå, and Östersund. We perform maintenance on the Armed Forces' equipment across all branches of defense. This includes maintenance in the form of inspections, repairs, manufacturing, dismantling/scrapping, modifications, operational support, technical adjustments, and material investigations. This position is based in Boden.

Main Responsibilities

As a Machine Operator/Vehicle Mechanic, you will primarily work with construction, manufacturing, repair, and maintenance, as well as various tasks related to the Armed Forces' equipment and material systems. The work involves both preventive and corrective maintenance, as well as modifications and renovations based on established guidelines.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • At least completed and finished two- or three-year upper secondary school with a focus on workshop technology or mechanical engineering, or other equivalent education, or skills acquired through work experience that the employer deems equivalent.
  • Experience in turning/milling or manufacturing
  • General computer skills
  • Driver's license B

You are quality-conscious, work well independently as well as in a team. As a Machine Operator/Mechanic, you are structured, decisive, and make correct assessments and priorities. Furthermore, you are flexible and can easily shift your focus and adapt in a changing environment.

Meritorious

  • Previous experience in a similar field.
  • Experience in mechanical work.
  • Welding skills
  • Knowledge in machining (turning/milling)

Employment type: permanent employment starting with a 6-month probationary period

Employment rate: full-time, daytime – varying working hours may apply

Work location: Boden

Start date: As soon as possible by agreement

The job also requires travel and service, both domestically and internationally. The position is a civilian position.

Work with thermosetting plastics may occur at the workshop and involves health checks.
