Our Operations

Ward 85F2 is a surgical care unit focusing on plastic and maxillofacial surgery as well as burn care all in one unit. Currently, we have 12 care places which are reduced to six during weekends. We care for both adults and children with both planned and emergency patient intakes. This work is for you who enjoy breadth, variety, and want to learn new skills. Patients in need of specialized high-level care are received from Uppsala County, the regions we are responsible for as a university hospital, from all over the country, and even from other countries.

Within our specialty, functionality is restored after, for example, tumor diseases, severe bodily injuries such as burns, and congenital malformations. The reconstructive plastic surgery at Akademiska sjukhuset is recognized as one of the leading centers in plastic surgery both nationally and internationally. The quality management system of the operational area has been certified according to ISO 9001 and SS-EN 15224 since 2016, with annual audits conducted by Intertek. We offer a varied job with challenges and great stimulation that contributes to the development of your skills.

Your Mission

As a part-time employed nurse at 85F2, you will be asked if you want and can work. This will happen both in the long and short term. You decide how many shifts you book yourself for, but you need to work continuously to stay updated.

The nursing needs of our patients are very varied, but there is a strong focus on pain management, nutrition, and wound care. You will work together with nursing assistants but are responsible for leading and distributing the work within the team around the patient. You will receive an individually tailored introduction aimed at providing knowledge and a good understanding of our operations. Together with your colleagues, you create a good working environment and contribute with a positive attitude in the workgroup.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse, preferably with a few years of experience in the profession. If you have experience in surgical care, that is excellent but not a requirement. As a person, you are stable, solution-oriented, secure, and empathetic. You are responsible, always have the patient in focus, and appreciate teamwork. As a part-time employee, you should be flexible.

We Offer

We offer a part-time employment as a nurse. We believe that different people have different conditions and wishes, which is why we offer you to work two-shift, three-shift, or only night shifts. We would like you to be onboarded as soon as possible and be willing to work some shifts during the summer. Salary and start date according to agreement.

You will receive an individually tailored onboarding together with a mentor, and the introduction will be adapted to your prior knowledge so that you feel secure in your role with us. We will also offer S-CPR for adults and children.
