We are looking for a head chef responsible for both Nibbleskolan's kitchen and Skogsbrynsskolan's kitchen, Meals Unit.

Everyone works to ensure that children, youth, and the elderly have a positive attitude towards the importance of meals for the environment and health. The Meals Unit is responsible for meals for the municipality's preschools, schools, and a senior restaurant, as well as preparing food for the municipality's Care & Welfare Administration. The unit has about 110 employees and 29 kitchens.

At Nibbleskolan, grades 2-6 attend. At Skogsbrynsskolan, grades F-1 and the Adapted School attend. Skogsbrynsskolan also delivers lunch and accompaniments for about 40 portions to the Adapted School. Both kitchens serve breakfast and snacks to after-school children and educators.

During the summer and Christmas holidays, Nibble Kitchen acts as a consolidation kitchen. It prepares and sends food to other kitchens that are open during the holidays.

Responsibilities

You are responsible for leading, distributing, driving, and developing the daily work in both kitchens and dining areas. You will work together with a total of 5 colleagues. Part of the day, you will participate in food preparation; the rest of the time, you will handle administrative tasks. How the work will be distributed between the two schools will be determined together. Currently, the distribution is: Friday and Monday at Nibbleskolan and Tuesday-Thursday at Skogsbrynsskolan. The distribution of working hours in each kitchen may change over time.

We are now looking for someone who inspires and engages employees in the development of the operations, improves existing routines, participates with your commitment in meetings and gatherings, and finds new solutions even under changing circumstances.

Through your professional and inclusive approach, you have the ability to communicate information clearly and follow up on decisions made.

At both units, you must be able to perform your tasks in a structured and independent manner under the central leadership of a head chef. To succeed in this role, you need to be very clear in your leadership, have good planning skills, be service-oriented, always see opportunities before obstacles, and you are expected to have very good collaboration skills.

You will thrive in the role if you have the ability to overview, allocate resources, and make decisions while being able to meet various requests and needs from your colleagues, your diners, and your head chef/management team.

In daily interactions with students, educators, and parents, you should contribute to raising awareness of our choices of food and dishes that are part of our sustainability goals.

Qualifications

You have a 3-year high school education in the restaurant and food program or other education/documented experience that the employer deems equivalent. You must have good knowledge of the Swedish language in terms of writing, speaking, and reading comprehension, as we work a lot with communication, information, and special diets. You need to be very structured in your way of planning your work between the two kitchens. You should have experience working with the Office suite and have good computer skills. Many of our administrative tools are web-based.

It is an advantage if you have experience in public gastronomy.
