The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS youth home Brättegården is located just outside Vänersborg. We accept non-compulsory school-age girls with psychosocial issues, mental health problems, as well as criminal behavior and substance abuse.
Job Description
Take the opportunity to try an interesting summer temporary position as a treatment assistant at SiS.
The goal of your assignment is to motivate young people to adopt new and less risky ways of living. As a treatment assistant, you will help ensure that the routines in the department function as they should. You play a significant role in providing stability and security for the young people, and you are responsible for the foundation of daily life such as schooling, cleaning, cooking, and more. You contribute to maintaining safety in the institution according to our routines.
Together with your team of dedicated colleagues, such as treatment educators and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied. Our vision is to be a place for change, and this permeates our approach, our commitment, and our attitude.
As a new employee, you will undergo an introductory training of at least one full day in conflict management and shadow a supervisor during your first shifts.
Our Departments
In the treatment departments, staff work with the individual treatment plan of the youth. As a summer temporary worker, you support your team with everything in daily life so that skills training, structured treatment activities, and program activities can be carried out. We have both traditional treatment departments and treatment departments focused on substance abuse.
In our specially reinforced departments (SFA), girls with autism spectrum disorders and/or intellectual disabilities live who need specially adapted care and treatment. The goal is to create safety, functioning relationships, and find strategies that enable them to cope with life based on their circumstances.
As part of the treatment for transition, there is an open department. Here, the focus is on the youth maintaining their acquired skills by practicing in open forms.
Qualifications
You should have:
- Completed upper secondary education
- Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., from psychiatry, HVB operations, or from care and support.
- B driver's license
- Good Swedish in speech and writing
Your personal suitability is key to life-changing transformations. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a well-founded positive view of people, a great empathetic ability, and the ability to create good treatment relationships. You have good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in pressured situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are happy to share your knowledge with colleagues.

We want to reward you for helping us during the summer period; therefore, those who work full-time as monthly employed temporary workers for more than four weeks will receive a bonus. Employment
The positions are summer temporary positions during the vacation period weeks 25-34. Within the authority, there is this summer an opportunity for a bonus in addition to the monthly salary. For two vacation periods (eight weeks), this means that you can receive up to 10,000 SEK. For the first four weeks within a vacation period, no bonus is paid, as this is an earning period. Working hours in all departments are scheduled according to a roster that includes days, evenings, and weekends. If you wish for a temporary position solely for awake night shifts, you need to indicate this in your personal letter.
