Welcome to the Hematology and Oncology Unit! Here, you will have a fun and developing job with a lot of patient contact, developing care relationships with a very grateful patient group, and also work with follow-up.

About our open position

We are looking for someone who wants to work with patients with oncological diseases in our oncology day care. Patients visit our day care for their cancer treatment, and your role as a nurse will be to support, guide, and follow up with patients. Your tasks will include administering chemotherapy or other treatments such as immunotherapy, providing blood transfusions, other intravenous medications, and subcutaneous injections. You will also work with patients' symptoms and follow up on side effects related to treatment or the disease. You will have your own appointment book and work as a contact nurse. You will collaborate with competent and experienced colleagues, and together you will work for good patient care. The job also includes telephone counseling and appointment scheduling. Working hours are during the day with some weekend rotation to our inpatient department.

About us

The Hematology and Oncology Unit consists of an oncology clinic, hematology clinic, oncology day care, hematology day care, and an inpatient department. We specialize in caring for patients with hematological and oncological conditions. Cancer care is constantly evolving, with much research ongoing, and many of our patients participate in research studies conducted within the unit, creating a development-oriented and exciting work environment.

In the oncology day care, ten nurses work, including specialist nurses, general nurses, and research nurses, along with one nursing assistant. We are a close-knit and secure team that truly works together, learns from each other, and is supported by engaged managers. We have a culture where we take the work environment seriously and maintain an open atmosphere.

Your profile

We are looking for a licensed nurse with at least 4 months of experience in the profession and an interest in working with people in vulnerable life situations, such as those caused by cancer. If you have further education and/or experience in oncology and/or palliative care, it is an advantage.

We seek someone who is positive, responsible, and strives to develop and grow in their professional role. We place great emphasis on personal qualities such as flexibility, the ability to handle different work tempos, and the ability to drive your work forward. We also value your willingness to contribute to the development of working methods and routines in the organization. If you appreciate a good laugh in the break room, that is a plus!
