Property Technician in Outdoor Environment

The City Property Management creates environments where life can thrive by planning, building, leasing, managing, and developing premises and outdoor environments for the operations of the City of Gothenburg. Every day, hundreds of thousands of Gothenburgers are active in preschools, schools, care homes, and other premises that we manage.

Together with the City Environment Administration, the Exploitation Administration, and the City Planning Administration, we have a coordinated responsibility for urban development in the City of Gothenburg. This means a shared distribution of responsibilities and roles based on stages: planning; implementation; and management with the aim of contributing to a cohesive, efficient, and transparent urban development for residents, visitors, and businesses in the city.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Operations and Maintenance Department is responsible for supervision, repair, and operation of the areas of outdoor environment, buildings, and installations over time with good technical status and satisfied customers. This is achieved through close cooperation with customers, other departments within the administration, and other organizations in the city. The department is responsible for carrying out inspections required by authorities and contributes to the development of energy-saving measures. We carry out the assignments ordered by our customers.

This position is organizationally placed in the Outdoor Environment area, where you will be based at our office in central Gothenburg (Gullbergs Strandgata 20). The main task is to work with supervision, maintenance, and repairs on our properties. We manage approximately five million square meters of land. You will become part of the positive and engaged teams operating in the area, and your contributions will be an important part of the operations.

We are now looking for a property technician in outdoor environment, which involves keeping the land and green areas as well as playgrounds in good condition at preschools. You will, among other things, mow grass, prune trees and bushes, plant new ones, combat weeds, and perform cleaning. In winter, you will ensure that our customers can continue their operations by clearing snow and combating slippery conditions in the yards. The position also involves administrative work, where you will order your materials and purchase certain services using a computer. You will then follow up on orders and manage your invoices. Your colleagues and manager will be there to assist you.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who are applying have graduated from high school with a focus on gardening or equivalent adult education. You have experience in similar work, such as maintenance and repairs in parks and public outdoor environments. For this position, it is advantageous but not required if you have previous experience with machines used in maintenance and minor construction work. We want you to have a strong interest in outdoor environments, a desire to work together with others, and show consideration for them and those you work for. You are accustomed to working with a computer.
