Radiographer to the Mammography Unit in Umeå

University Hospital in Umeå, Skellefteå Hospital, and Lycksele Hospital, as well as health centers in southern Lapland. BFM Västerbotten is responsible for all types of imaging radiological examinations and treatments, including nuclear medicine, mammography, and advanced peripheral and neurointervention.

The Mammography Unit at Norrland University Hospital is responsible for all mammography in Västerbotten County, and here you will be part of an engaged team of radiographers and doctors. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a radiographer with us, you contribute knowledge and commitment that makes people feel safe.

You will be offered varied tasks such as screening examinations, assistance with ultrasound and punctures, and patient care. The work also includes image handling, image quality control, and more administrative tasks such as scheduling and rescheduling. The clinical examinations are performed in Umeå, while mammography screening is offered at fixed units in Umeå and Skellefteå, as well as a mobile unit for the rest of the county.

There is a well-developed care chain, and we have a close collaboration with the breast clinic of the surgical department. This means that cooperation with the surgeon's breast unit is intensified as all patients with breast symptoms are referred to our new joint reception.

The position is in Umeå, but rotation at the mammography units in the county is included according to the schedule; the position also includes work in Skellefteå with overnight stays. The work mainly takes place during the day, but some evening shifts in the mobile unit are included, where the workweek is Monday to Thursday with a free Friday. Overnight stays occur at this placement.

QUALIFICATIONS

You need to be a licensed radiographer to apply for this position. Although a driver's license is not a formal requirement from the start, we see it as an advantage as travel to mammography locations will be necessary. Previous experience in the profession is meritorious and can give you extra security in the role, but we also welcome you who have recently completed your education.

Flexibility is also important as our work often requires adaptability regarding tasks and times. Empathy and understanding for patients' situations are central; you should enjoy meeting people at different stages of life and be able to meet them with care and respect.
