JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a tourist information officer, you will sell and inform visitors about Gothenburg's offerings in areas such as dining, accommodation, and activities. This will take place either at the tourist information center or through our contact center at Kungsportsplatsen. It may also involve meeting tourists and visitors outdoors at cruise ship arrivals or during larger conferences. Interactions with customers occur through various channels, and the goal is always to assist them with their inquiries and actively work to encourage them to choose Gothenburg, enjoy the destination's offerings, and perhaps extend their stay.

Some positions may also involve distributing brochures within Greater Gothenburg using a small van.

We are now looking for new colleagues who are interested in working scheduled hours during June-August 2025 and extra during the fall/winter.

QUALIFICATIONS

To be considered for the position, you should have studied or be studying a relevant post-secondary education in sales/service/tourism or equivalent. You have excellent knowledge of Gothenburg and Västra Götaland specifically, but also of Sweden in general. You have previous experience working in service, sales, or tourism.

It is important that you have very good knowledge of Swedish and English, as well as good knowledge of another language, such as German, Spanish, or French. You have good computer skills (Office). If you have previously worked in a tourist information center or contact center, that is a plus, as well as experience with social media/web. Additionally, experience with booking systems and cash handling is advantageous.

To succeed in this role, you need to have strong communication skills, adapting your communication to the recipient, target group, and situation. You are eager to help others and make an effort to listen and meet your customer's expectations. Furthermore, you easily adapt to new conditions and take responsibility for completing your tasks with the best interests of the organization and visitors in mind.

For the position that involves distributing brochures by car in Gothenburg, a B driver's license and driving experience are also required (a third language in addition to Swedish and English is advantageous for this position).
