About the American High School

The American High School was founded on a strong pedagogical idea. Our guiding star is that “we work for our students and employees to reach their full potential.” Therefore, we focus on both knowledge development and personal development. Our culture is characterized by clear rules with care. We call it “Frames and Hugs.” The school operations are organized so that students are prepared for an international labor market in a rapidly changing world, which is why our logo reads “Get ready for the world.”

Everything that happens at the school is based on our four core values: Courage, Kindness, Knowledge & Curiosity, and Grit. In classrooms and corridors, interactions between students and staff are characterized by behaviors derived from these values. We work closely with students and always prioritize their best interests.

About the role

As a school nurse at the American High School, you are a central part of the Medical Services of Student Health (EMI) and an important member of the student health team. You work proactively and preventively with a focus on strengthening students' health, well-being, and learning conditions. With your medical and nursing expertise, you contribute to creating a safe and health-promoting school environment. In this role, you have independent responsibility for planning, structuring, and executing your work throughout the academic year.

As a school nurse with us, you become an important part of a well-organized and competence-driven student health service. The Medical Services of Student Health is centrally led by a management group consisting of the operational manager/coordinating school nurse, the medically responsible school doctor, and the school psychologist. You will also be part of the American High School's national network for school nurses, where experiences and knowledge are shared across schools.

We highly value professional development and therefore offer all employees within the medical student health service (EMI) an individually tailored plan for continuing education. As part of this, you will also have the opportunity to participate in our annual school nurse conference, which gathers school nurses from all over the American High School. You will also often have the opportunity to attend the annual school nurse congress. We believe in a sustainable and development-oriented work climate where your skills are utilized and given the opportunity to grow, while you contribute to strengthening and developing student health work.

The position is a permanent employment at 80%, with a possible extension to full-time over time. The employment begins with a 6-month probationary period. Start date according to agreement.
